PALM DESERT HOTEL AND CONDOMINIUM

Palm Desert is a fast-growing, highly desirable destination community in the California desert, anchored by the El Paseo district; one of the finest addresses in the Palm Springs region for shopping and entertainment. ELM was asked by the client to lead the master planning effort for this vacant 6-acre downtown site bordering El Paseo. The site is an infill location, and a thoughtful approach to integrating proposed improvements was necessary to fit appropriately into the existing context.

The 98,000 sf condominium spans three stories and comprises 17 residential units, each designed with stunning views of the nearby mountains that immerse residents in the surrounding natural beauty. Amenities include meeting rooms and interactive gathering spaces, such as a serene courtyard fountain and a poolside pavilion. The penthouse level is the crowning jewel of the condominium, featuring wraparound balconies with varied offerings including private spas connected to the owner's suites, outdoor summer kitchens, and dining terraces perfect for entertaining.

The 140,000 sf boutique hotel features 135 keys and an array of public amenities, including retail space and a spacious restaurant. The hotel also offers meeting rooms and a grand ballroom to attract groups and social activities. An event lawn, situated between the L-shaped hotel building and the standalone luxury spa and fitness center, provides stunning views of the nearby mountain ranges. The hotel's poolside bar and spa add an extra touch of luxury, ensuring guests enjoy a truly indulgent retreat.

A comprehensive view of the project shows that it accomplishes the main client goals of luxury and appropriateness in scale and finish. The completed project will create tremendous new value to the El Paseo district of Palm Desert, introducing a desirable new residential, hotel, and dining/entertainment, building upon the beautiful design precedent, dynamic landscape, and brilliant scale of central Palm Desert.
